Very embarrassing for me not him Well my dog bam bam seems to have a penis sticking out problem. He has been neutered and is almost 15 months. Doesnt seem to bother him. I was getting shots for him and pebbles(rabies) and the vet said just to put vaseline on it. Well I did research online and it said to also use ky jelly or Vaseline or put sugar and a little water on it. I did all of the above and was able to slide it back in but it didn't last. I also tried cold water but it too was only temporary fix. I read it an lead to amputation if it goes too dry and sticks out too long but vet I went to and the one I called didn't seem too concerned. I am doing all the treatments until I can get him to a different on Monday as both vets said that if it was something called Paraphimosis then he would be in pain, it would turn blue, and he would have difficulty peeing which none of these things he has. Anyone ever experienced this. I did a search on here or Paraphimosis and nothing came up. |
Maybe You can find some help here: Paraphimosis in Small Animals: Reproductive Diseases of the Male Small Animal: Merck Veterinary Manual I know this has to be distressing for you. Hope it all works out well. |

my puppy does it if he humps to long. You can get warm water and sugar and that is supose to help. I use vaseline and help it go back it. I just keep rolling the skin forward and that helps. What we do for our dogs!! LOL |
My Marcel get's his stuck sometimes, but it's usually after humping. Maybe see a different vet about it? I think, though, that as long as it's in a "soft" position (ie, not erect), it should be safer sticking out at times. It's when it's erect and sticking out for a long period of time that things could actually get damaged. I do hope you find a solution. :) |
Yeah it only sticks out part ways. Seems soft. Will check with another vet tomorrow. Thanks guys |
My friend's morkie has that issue. Her vet pretty much had the same reaction/suggestion as yours did. She used the ky gel though b/c her vet said something about it not harming him if he licks it. I think it's been about 2 years since she told me that and he's been fine since and I think the number of times his "lipstick" came out have decreased. |
Well another vet just dipped it in a dextrose solution(which is sugar water that I already did). It's an "inny" for now. Hope it stays put! Thanks again everyone. He did tell me if it sticks out again make sure it doesnt get dry and use ky jelly on it |
Too funny. I thought only my dog had this problem. His sticks out everytime he gets excited (not sexually). I never paid it much mind, if anyone sees it and comments on it I just tell them his lipstick is showing. Seems like it happens more when he is playing hard and chasing his ball. |
Yeah he is not bashful that's for sure. It is still in! Yeah. He has long lost all modesty with his lipstick. Lol |
