Wobble Wag Giggle Ball (Bentley's New Toy Help!) 1 Attachment(s) I got the "Wobble Wag Giggle Toy" from a friend. I attached a pic here so you can see it. Bentley gets super excited, and starts barking like crazy almost like freaking out? He gets very agitated and tries to destroy it :-/ I put the ball away on top of the fridge and he keeps staring at it and staring at me because he wants it down again :-/ I feel so bad for him but I dont know if this excitement is bad for him? 1 minute with the ball and he acts like he went on an hour walk, tongue is out, he starts producing a lot of saliva and accelerated breathing, he also starts doing this crying sounds like the ball is torturing him :-/ How do I get him to like this toy? Btw, it's a ball that when you roll it around makes a noise like mice or squirrels :) Sigh should I just give the toy away? |
Not seeing the actual behavior of your baby it's kinda hard to advise what to do, but I will get my boy one this week. He LOVES new toys, sorry I could of no help. |

Most yorkies want to kill their toys, my boy wants to kill every thing. All my past girls would get super hyper with any toy. Me, I would let my boy work it out with the toy. If they are really scared of it they won't play with it or go near it. I think your pup likes it, reason he get super excited. You say when you put it up on the frig he looks at it, barks for it. Me, I don't mind excited pup. My boy see Mr. pesty Squirrel he will run from room to room, window to window panting, growling wanting to kill that pesty little critter. I let him be, it's good exercise lol. Do as you say, you best know your pup, let him have it for a few minutes. I think because it is a new toy that makes strange noises is what causes his excitement. He just may need time to get use to it. I see it's a buy on line only toy. I am ordering one today for my boy. |
My friend had what we called a Google ball for his young Rottweiler and all of us had the most fun rolling this thing around, hearing the crazy sounds it made. Piper is very selective about her toys--especially the sound. Thus far, she only plays with flat, fluffy toys having mild squeak--most any other sounds she will shy from...Have fun with that ball, it certainly brought a lot of us a lot of laughter (the sounds and the antics of the pups playing with it). |
When I described that same behavior to my vet, which Teddy displays during walks, riding in cars, seeing other dogs and people etc, the vet stated that all of those symptoms (muzzle sweating etc.) indicated fear. When I asked him why my dog then pursued his objects of "fear", the vet said it was because these dogs do not like to back down from those they fear so fight or flight - YT's choose fight! SO, it could be that your dog is actually afraid of the toy but it is hard to know without witnessing the behavior in order to compare it with what I know about Teddy. I would be tempted to get rid of it if I thought it was doing more harm than good. I have done this for Teddy on a couple of occasions. He gets new for old, though! One toy out = one toy in! |
