Non-toxic floor cleaners What non-toxic pet friendly floor cleaners do you use to wash kitchen and bathroom floors. |
I like the lemon-fresh all purpose cleaner for the bathroom floor. Lemon-Fresh All-Purpose Cleaner If the smell of vinegar is too potent for your taste, try this easy-to-make all-purpose cleaner that uses lemon juice instead. The baking soda cuts through grime like a knife; the lemon juice contains natural enzymes that break down organic matter. You can use this on most household surfaces; unlike some commercial cleaners, you can safely use it around animals. Ingredients: A clean, empty spray bottle or bucket 3 cups of very hot water 2 tbsp of baking soda 2 tbsp pure lemon juice (fresh squeezed or bottled) First, pour the water into the bottle or bucket. Next, add the baking soda, making sure it completely dissolves and uniformly distributes throughout the water. Finally, add the lemon juice, again making sure you mix it well. Spray on soiled surfaces and wipe with a clean, damp cloth. When you’re done cleaning, pour any remaining mixture down the drain. Tips for Safer Cleaning | Cesar Millan |

Vinegar and water. |
I would like to thank the ladies that offered their suggestions. Several years ago I heard floor cleaners such as Mr Clean, Spic N Span, Pinesole, etc. were toxic to pets. I use some of the above products, but, I then re-wash on hand and knees with fresh water twice to ensure all floor cleaner chemicals have been removed. I am trying to eliminate the hand and knees 2 washings with plain water. I read on the internet the GREEN products are supposed to be safe, but was stated the label does not read safe for pets. But pet owners were using GREEN products around pets anyway as they felt the GREEN products were safe to use with pets. I of course have never allowed my pups to walk on floors while wet. Thank you again for your time in replying and your suggestions. |
