What Odd Thing "scares" Your Little Love(s) Recently I discovered that Piper, who will charge toward fence if being charged by biiig dog (she could care less about the smaller canines yipping and jumping at her), is afraid of bubbles! Yep, she cowers a little as they float down and then skitters away before one of them "gets" her. We also came across three sweet bunnies enjoying a morning grazing section in their yard and Piper jumped about a foot when she saw 'em! Had no interest in investigating or sticking around---musta been those big ol' bunny ears, right?! What silly thing frightens yours? "A watchdog is a dog kept to guard your home, usually by sleeping where a burglar would awaken the household by falling over him." |
I don't know about scaring my little guy, but the land line phone ring, he wants to kill the phone, I have it sitting on my 1/2 wall,he jumps on the back of the sofa and attacks it, knocking it to the floor. All the while barking and growling at it, scared!!!!!! silly little critter that he is lol |
Everything scares my dog... it is tiring! |
Nuada used to be scared of trucks. Whether he was at home or in the car, if a truck passed he would hid away. My new pup Crowley is scared of his own shadow. If he catches a glimpse of his shadow, he will jump up and then run away. |
I am so enjoying these unique and funny posts. Love hearing about your canines and their adorable, inexplicable antics! |
There was a time when I didn't think much of anything scared Lacey. That was until I replaced my old cream colored kitchen appliances with black appliances. She won't come into the kitchen. She will sit at the doorway patiently waiting for me to leave the scary bad kitchen. If I open the fridge door or the oven door, she takes off. It's been 3 months and she's still scared of the big black things. |
I have worked with Penny nonstop helping her get over her fears for the last 15 months but there's always something new we have to work on. On a windy day she thought that the evil floating plastic bag was after her. And from day one I thought Penny was afraid of trucks but I found it strange she would let some pass her without a problem. It took me a bit to realize it was any vehicle with a diesel engine. |
Barney is scared of spatulas and we have no idea why. While we are cooking my dh and I have to hold the spatula down low because the minute Barney sees it, he's under the couch hiding. Anna is afraid of bridges at the park. I have to hold her and hide her eyes until we get across. |
Thank you barneysmommmy for reminding me, yes, there is something my boy is scared of, that's the "fly swatter". When he's outside and refuses to listen to me I tell him "momma's getting the fly swatter" he'll run in the house. If he's inside and refuses to listen I tell him and he'll hide behind the sofa lol. But, he's really a very good boy, so he really doesn't get to see much of the fly swatter, or hear the threat. My past girls were also afraid of the fly swatter lol. |
Well Hannah is not scared of anything!!! She's known to be shy around other people at first but not scared. After all she's 10 feet tall! Maybe we need to go out more??? This is gonna be a cute thread! I'm laughing already! |
Mickey is afraid of many things. Feathers lying on the ground, The cd player drawer, Swiffer mop, and Pandas on my granddaughters pajamas. He is a very outgoing dog except for a few things like that, but then look out when he goes ballistic! |
Bella is afraid of vacuum cleaners, and her alligator squeaky toy that makes a low growl when you squeeze it. She's not afraid of much else. |
My mom's sneezes. She never just sneezes once, it's always like 10 times, so when she starts Lola runs to someone for protection. If I sneeze she just gives me a dirty look. She also doesn't yelling, happy or mad yelling. We don't yell at her. |
All my past pups would attack the vacuum, the vac has no affect on Cody, but let me get the Swiffer mop and he wants to kill it, that's when the threat of fly swatter comes in handy. Try swiffering kitchen floor with 12 lb yorkie attached to the velcro. |
Jax is a big quirky boy. He doesn't like the noise titled 'Alert' on the iPhone. He goes under the bed and hides. He doesn't like gun shots or fireworks or any kind of popping noise. He doesn't like fly swatters. He doesn't like the beep on the smoke detectors. Whew... Funny thing is, he's a pretty mellow guy out in public, most of the time. Most trucks and car noises don't startle him (every once in a while, maybe a super loud motorcycle will) and he can walk by dogs barking, people, etc, etc and be fine... |
