Dogs who love the vet We took Max and Teddy to the vet's office to pick up Heartgard. The boys have never gone to the vet together and they were so excited about the prospect of taking on the office as a duo. They were acting like they were at Disneyland. Crazy boys! Does your dog love going to the vet? |
I use Banfield inside the PetSmart. (I luv the vets there) Magnus is okay with going into Petsmart but when we go towards the vet part of the area... Yeah... he gives me that look of "you traitor!". Zoey... *sigh* She runs around inside the car so I can't catch her. She doesn't want to be anywhere near a pet store or any place that has a lot of ppl and/or dogs. |
ZoE loves going to the vet! She literally tries to pull me to the door. Her vet is absolutely amazing though. He's been voted the best vet in our town, six years in a row. He truly loves his job and loves animals. Zo adores him and his head vet tech. The vet tech works with a rescue group, and attends a lot of the dog fairs/expos we attend, and Zo is always so happy to see her. |
All my dogs loved Dr Jack. But he has retired now. But everyone makes a big fuss over the pups - so far so good. I didn't take Dara in as often to just have a fun visit, but she will be going in pretty often over the next few months..... Heres hoping for a temp warm up |
Lexi is such a spirited and fun loving little girl. Lexi has not had much experience at the vet. Just the normal shots and checkups. She loves everybody and everything. Except those squirrels! She just wants to love on everyone. There's strenghth in numbers Kristen. |

Of course I am kidding! Some of mine do, but some have memories that make them not so happy to be there. |
P and P LOVE our vet, especially P-Nut. He goes racing in the door every time - he's a great advertisement for them! 😍😂 |
Teddy didn't hate the vet, I don't think, but the vet said that his behavior suggested that he was "beyond terrified" so I'm gonna go with "no". My poor dog is afraid of everything!!!! |
I wish I had pets that loved the vet. It has never happened here through many years of cats and dogs. |
Although some of it might be nervous energy, I do think Wylie *loves* the vet bc his real mission in life is to meet every single living being everywhere, so vet visits do get him closer to his goal :p. |
Bubba loves his vet. She is one of a fairly large practice but we try to see just her. I like continuity of care. All I have to do is say to him, do you want to go see Dr. S and he is at the door waiting to go. As soon as he sees her, he smiles like crazy. I think he remembers that she saved his life when we first got him. He came to us coughing on the first day and saw her. He had a bad case of kennel cough and it progressed to pneumonia so bad she wasn't sure he would live. Then a few years later he had HGE and was hospitalized again. So he really loves her. Sissy, well she is her own special self. She was a rescue as a puppy, totally unsocialized and it took quite a while for her to trust us. Some days she doesn't seem sure of my husband but I think she tolerates him because he feeds them but won't cuddle with him. When she gets to the vet, she is stiff as a board as Dr. S tells the tech, don't even bother trying to take her temp because she has her little stump so tight over her butt that you'll never get there. |

My dogs love to go to the vet! Well, my boys do.... Daisy isn't all that jazzed about it, but she's not stressed or upset when we go. The boys act like they've found their long lost home when they go in. No boundaries... |
Callie loves the vet, I'm not she why because there is always something bad going on when she goes but she loves it. Sammy hates it and will nervous poo where ever he is if you don't give him enough time outside to do it. He does a lot better when Callie is with him. He actually gets very tense if they take Callie into the back for blood or something and he has to see her as soon as they bring her back you can't have her up on the exam table right away or he freaks out. Callie hates the exam table though she is very picky about what she sits on so she will not sit or lay or anything on the exam table she just climbs me if the vet is not messing with her. Sammy will actually sit and lay down. One of the reasons I like getting them groomed there too is everyone knows them and they even each have there own favorite vet techs and each vet tech knows it lol. |
Waffles loves going to the vet UNTIL she sees the big dogs then she squeaks and squawks and shakes |
It depends on who he's seeing. If it's the guy vet then no, the lady vet then yes lol. He also loves to TRY and pee on everything: p |
How funny Kristin! My girls shake to death. Lol. Lily is the only one who wants to love on my vet. The other two want their mommy. Maybe your two were plotting since they both were together! Haha! Glad they were excited to be there. |
We made another rare visit to the vet's office with both Max and Teddy . Usually I take them individually. I was going to wait in the car with them while dad went inside to pick up their package. The boys were so excited, they insisted on getting out of the car and they tried to pull me inside the office. They are crazy! :p |

It is is such a stressor for me to take Jackson to the vet. I get stressed because I know how stressed he gets. He immediately starts shaking when we pull into the parking lot. His anxiety meds have been helping to ease his fear a bit though and our new vets office is great, it's the most comfortable he's been at a vets. So I'll take it. Next dogs I really want to work on so they are like Max and Teddy! I would love to start socializing them at the vets and just bringing them in for fun visits and not just appointments! |

Luckily, we switched vets, so we never returned. He was fine after that. I'm glad Jackson is doing well with your new vets office. Save |

Max and Sasha do not like going to the vet. As soon as we get into the parking lot their little tongues start to curl up which is their way of showing me they are distressed. |
Emma likes going to our vet because there's a bunch of cats. Emma loves cats, I have no idea why but she does. We pull into the parking lot and she's so excited to get out, we go in, she waits for her cat buddy to come talk to her and if that buddy cat just so happens to sneak in the exam room while Emma is being examined, Emma pays attention to the cat and ignores the vet. So pleasant distraction from the shots and stuff. |
Tibbe is such a social gadfly, he LOVES any chance he gets to exert his many Yorkie charms on others, even those who poke and prod him or clip his toenails. He'd undergo just about anything I think as long as he got attention for it, the definition of a tiny 'ham'. Plus he seems to take in every single molecule of critter odor he can manage from the time we drive close until we drive away, his bit of a nose is constantly, visibly working overtime. So say the word 'vet' and Tibbe is all happy tail and panting with joy to and fro. The attendants and even the vets have commented that he's always got a paw sticking through the cage, standing on his hind feet and vying loudly for their attentions and seem more than a little relieved when I show up to council with the vet and take him home while he acts like he's just been on the vacation of a lifetime. |
