The power of love I have always known that dogs have huge hearts and the ability to sense our emotions, but I just wanted to share a heart warming story. My sweet Maggie lived her first 4 yrs in an awful amish mill cage with minimal human interaction, much less love or affection. She was so timid when we brought her home, and nobody could have blamed her if she never trusted or loved us...and we knew that was a fair possibility...we just wanted her to have a safe quiet place to rest her head. But over the 4 months we have had her, through patience and love Maggie has become my little shadow. She is always on my lap or by my side. Yesterday I had a friend over for coffee, Maggie assumed her spot on my lap at the table for a snooze. I was talking to my friend about possibly having to move this spring due to my husbands job, and began to cry softly, nothing loud or dramatic. Maggie instantly lifted her head as the tears came down my face and crawled up the front of me, tucking her head under my chin. She was clearly trying to comfort me! And it worked :) I was just thinking today how this little dog, who never received love until recently, so quickly returned it. Pretty amazing :aimeeyork |
That is so sweet and so very true! They just know :) |
Isn't in amazing? My last yorkie came from similar circumstances and within a year, she went from being shy and timid to a full fledge diva....can we say Rupaul? My fault and I didn't care, she had such a hard life for her first 7 years. I was just making up for lost time.:p |
These little critters ask for very little and give back a wealth of love. There are truly amazing. Thank you for rescuing. |
Lovely loving story. |
Isn't it amazing how all of our stories with our babies are ultimately love stories as is your lovely story with your sweet little girl. God bless you for taking her in and giving her a real home, full of love and kindness. |
What a sweet thing to happen. It is wonderful to know that she has responded so well to your love, and that you two have bonded already. What a blessing! |
such a lovely story thanks for sharing, I think it's true when they say who rescued who. If you have to move at least you know you will have a sweet little girl by your side while you make the transition. |
That beautiful! I mean I have experienced this type of connection as well. |
How precious... love those little great "life moments" :) |
I got all misty-eyed reading your post--in a good way...May God bless you both always... "Dogs never lie about love." |
Heartwarming post! I am happy that Maggie and you found each other. |
I LOVE this story, thank you for sharing it! I'm really glad that Maggie can be happy now. Doggies don't ask for a lot, only love. |
How precious she is, I wish many happy times with her . |
