Walk In Vet Clinic Hello, I will be getting my yorkie baby next month. In doing my research for vets I came across one that allows you to do the office visit where the doctor check out the pup or a simply walk in for vaccination . I know I have to do a wellness check up within 72 hours of getting her. My question is about the vaccination, the vet offer a time slot where if you want to come between 11-3 get the shot and leave you can. Is that fine or should she see an actually doctor each time. Thanks in advance for your help. |
I personally would want to see the vet each time to have her checked out and make sure she is doing well. |
I was thinking that was best to see the vet each time along with the vaccination |

First I would like to welcome you to YT! You must be excited to be getting your new pup next month ad can't wait! About a vet, I would be more comfortable with having a private veterinarian practice than a walk-in place like say PetSmart or whatever. Hope others will give you their insight and again Welcome and any questions, please feel free to ask. :) |
I strongly believe that your pets relationship with their vet is just as important as your relationship with your Dr or Dentist. With that said, I would find a vet where you can have that type of relationship. Just my opinion, hope you find exactly what you are comfortable with. |
Most especially when your puppy is young, and to validate your health guarantee you must see the vet him/herself. I have a thread on here. let me find it about your first vet visit. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...vet-visit.html |

Welcome to YT, and congratulations on your new baby. I suggest your own pvt vet, not a walk in for shots only. Your vet will have all history of every visit you made. And your vet will always give your pup a check up, check ears, teeth, weight etc. |
Thank You everyone for your replies :D. Yes I definitely will feel better with a vet I can feel comfortable with. |
Welcome and congratulations on your new pup! I agree with the others, building a relationship with your vet is so important on many levels. One example, if you ever want to consider pet insurance, the company will require the medical record from the vet. Another thing I would advise is to make an early appointment for vaccinations... in case of a reaction you can go back to the vet and get help while they are still open. |
