Three pit bulls, a border collie and now a Yorkie! Yes, it is crazy! After my Dad died in October, we brought his little buddy home to live with us. My husband said there was no way a little yorkie would/could ever get a long with 3 pit bulls and a border collie. I kept trying to explain to him that "Buster" is a very cool little dog and he gets along with everyone. Naturally I was right! Everyone gets along great. Buster is much too small to be left with any one of our 4 dogs unsupervised. Fortunately, he does well in his crate when it's necessary. My only concern is that we don't know anything about Yorkshire terriers. I'm hoping to lean on the experts at Yorkie Talk so Buster continues to live happily ever after in his new home. |
WELCOME to YT. I'm so sorry for the loss of your Father, but bless your big heart for taking in his little furkid ....I'm sure that meant more to him than you know. Yorkies are big dogs inside small bodies, so I'm not surprised he gets along fine w/ your other doggies. That said, you're very smart to already realize that he shouldn't be left alone w/ the larger ones since they could hurt him, just by playing and through no fault of their own. Glad you found us! |
I hate the name of this book because I feel like I'm insulting people but Yorkshire terriers for dummies is a really good book. We are always here to answer and of your questions. I am also very sorry for your loss. |
Welcome to YT, sorry for the loss of your Dad. How wonderful of you to take his little Buster with 4 large dogs of your own, bless you. |
