Bald spot from rabies shot My yorkie has a bald spot from the rabies shot. I can't remember the brand right now, but has anyone else has this happen? Is there anything that can "reverse" the baldness? |
I have heard that it happens, but have no experience with it myself. You might try putting organic virgin coconut oil on the skin...feed it to your baby, too. I cannot say it will reverse the baldness, but it should help the skin regardless. Good luck. |
Yes, my little girl had this problem. My vet said it may be Alopecia, but it actually was due to the rabies shot. The hair did grow back. She gets very ill after this vaccination, and at twelve years of age with a collapsing trachea, she no longer gets this vaccination even though it is required by law. I am afraid I will lose her if she gets another one. |
Yes, 2 of mine have bald spots from vaccinations - it's pretty common. Oftentimes, the hair will not grow back. |

Bummer, I was hoping someone would have found an answer. My daughter got it when she was little and got steroid shots and thank goodness her hair grew back. I was thinking that maybe someone found something! Does everyone know they type of shot their dog got? |
Sophie has the same problem but it is from the ID Chip. |

I am also reading some posts about problems at the site of vaccines. Did you have the chip removed? If so, did the spot clear up. If not, how did you treat it? |
