Is my yorkie a purebred? 1 Attachment(s) I have AKC papers for my yorkie and she was born last March which makes her approximately 9 months old. When she was a baby I had a pet groomer tell me that she was too dark to be a purebred and that she must be a yorkiepoo. I was very offended considering I paid 600 for her and she has papers. I never saw her mom and dad but saw her siblings. She's 2 pounds and is very tiny...., I'm curious to hear another opinion. Considering I thought yorkies could be many colors! I have provided a picture now! Thank you. |
Dont think she knows the breed well. Your baby looks like a yorky to me |
She looks 100% yorkie to me! Hello and welcome to YT! Shes a cutie! |
:animal36Looks like a Yorkie to me. I have seen yorkies that were even darker then yours. It's fun to see the difference from dog to dog. Mine is like pale gold with the rest being light grey(silver blue) |
Bleh ignore people like that my yorkie is darker also on her back and there are some beautiful ones on here that are as well. |
She is adorable and I believe 100% Yorkie. Some do have darker coats and faces, and I think she is beautiful. |
Welcome to YT, your puppy is beautiful, she looks 100% yorkie to me. My last girl's back was pure black, her legs and face were Auburn, not a speck of silver grey on her, I also had another puppy the same color. Her color may change as she gets older, but, you do have a beautiful little yorkie there. |
Looks all yorkie to me and I love her coloring too! Adorbs! |

If she is AKC you can rest assured shes pure bred and her coloring isnt the standard coloring but there are alot of darker yorkies like her and she looks all yorkie to me |
Your Yorkie baby is adorable. If the groomer does a good job grooming, perhaps you can just smile and nod at her perception of your precious baby's breed. :D |
she looks yorkie to me |
My yorkie is the same in color :) |

How a yorkie looks like is not an indication whether its purebred or not. The only way to verify that a yorkie is purebred is it's pedigree. If a yorkie does not conform to the breed standard is just a matter of genetics and selection of the breeding pair. |
