Should i spay/nueter both dogs the same time? I never had my female dogs spayed. I never let them near males over the years. Wasnt till my last dog a female doxie i had 17 years. At the last she had lumps on her tummy. Vet couldnt operate due to her age he said. I started reading about issues unspayed females could have and i believe she had some of these issues. But again to old to have surgery. I have read so much in here and know im going to have my babies fixed. My problem is this. I have a date on the same day to have my male yorky and female papilon done at the same time. Is this wise? What do you think. Im really nervous. They neither one like the cage. I put them both in the cage yesterday and boo would not even come in my room today. They say no jumping for five days. How do you keep them from this. I just move and my pap is jumping down. Can they wear their collars and leash. That would be the only way i know to catch them before they jump. Im really worried. |
I was just wondering, what do you mean by lumps on the tummy.. what was that from? Sorry I can't be of much help with your question but I'm sure many people on here can chime in and give you advice. |

I would think have both done at the same time would be better, reason, both have to be quiet, no jumping, running. Better to have both, then having one, reason, one that was operated will want to be spunky and play with the other one and visa versa, having both at same time, both are not up to par for a day or 2. To keep them from jumping off things, don't allow them up on things, I lined my sofa and love seat with big pillow, blocked off sofa and love seat with "stuff" so they couldn't jump up, my bed room I kept the door closed so they could not get in to jump on the bed. You'll be amazed at how fast they recover, they will be looking to jump up on things the day after surgery. |
Yes I would have my vet do both at the same time. |

Ok I'm going to be the odd one out and disagree, sorry. I do them separately, just in case one was ill, caught an infection or whatever could go wrong. That way all my attention could be with that one. Mind you I've had 15 ferrets, (25) numerous rabbits, 3 cats, 8 dogs spayed or neutered over a 35 year period and only ever had one case of something going wrong. |
Yes. But please make sure your not hooking the leash to their collars that is not good for small dogs at all. They should be wearing a harness when the leash is attached. |
