pepper sprayed I just got a new foster today, a little golden mix, probably about a year old. Everytime we got close to her we started coughing and my daughters eyes burned. My daughter said "Mom she smells like pepper" . It makes sense with the coughing and burning. The dogs eyes were ok, no drainage no sneezing or coughing. We gave her a bath of course with minimal results. The vet checked her out but had no idea what to do for the irritation. It's not something he'd ever seen. Our groomer also had no idea what to do. Any suggestions? We want to integrate her into the family but can't expose our yorkies or ourselves. |
I don't know if a tomato juice bath would work, might be worth a try or at least looking it up on google. |
Try using whole milk, it neutralizes pepper spray |
Found this for pepper spray removal: Removing the Pepper Spray Oil from Your Skin Use a solution of 25% “Dawn” (noticed we mentioned a brand name) dishwashing detergent and 75% water. You can probably get away with using less detergent but we have always used this formula. Use cold water and make up at least a gallon because you are going to have to wash the effected area at least 7 to 8 times. |
Wow, that poor dog! I hope you can find a way to get this off....try vinegar rinses too. |
