MeSo is too small... Today MeSo is 15 weeks, and she is only two pounds! If the weight charts are correct that will put her at less than 3.5lbs! Oh my, this is so small. Gunner is almost 5lbs and I thought he was small. She is less fragile than Gunner was, but I want her to grow. She is not thin, no worms, eats great. I hope she has a major growth spurt. Anyone else have a pup this small at this age and have it grow bigger? |

A bell is a great idea....I had bells on several of my little girls and a tiny little boy....I FINALLY got used to the bell and in my mind, I traded off that irritating bell with the possibility of stepping on one of them! |

Sheldon is just a bitty thing, too, at right around three pounds. Honestly, he's learned to stay out of the way on his own. Granted, we have small kids around the house so he's been learning to watch his back from day one...lol. He was right around two pounds at 15 weeks, too...maybe just a touch bigger. |

I love the bell sound. When I don't hear a bell, I think one of them is doing something they shouldn't be. Usually it's Toto. Actually, it's ALWAYS Toto. There are different sounding bells. I can't stand the xmas style jingle bells. I get the cat bells. Very pleasant sound. If you don't like bells, get a name tag and another small charm so the two clank together when she moves. I have a bell on Uni and two charms on Toto, so I know who is doing what by the different sounds. |
Tassel was 2pds 9 ounces when I got her at 13wks like your little one a very small baby. She will be 7mos in two wks and shes 3pds. She runs with my other yorkies and she is learning to stay out of the way pretty good. They look like a wave of little yorkies coming in the room where ever I go this little wave follows. It's when Tassel isn't with the wave that I get concern then I know she's up to something. But as for her size she thinks she's big girl!!:) my other two are 6 and 7 pds. Tassel isn't our first tiny we have always had this size so there wasn't an adjusting to her. The other two were larger than we had ever had before. But still small babies.:) |
Teddy was the same weight at around 2lbs 8oz or less up until he was 8-9 months old - he then went up to 3lbs 13oz and stayed there until one year of age and from 12-13 months he went from 3lbs 13oz to 4lbs 5oz.... who knows about these things! I don't even know if Teddy is considered small but he sure doesn't think so..! |
My experience is that sometimes the tinies have little growth spurts later, like around 10mths or so, where they kind of might grow just a bit more and/or fill in a bit. I was worried my Marcel was going to be super small, but he ended up right around 4 pounds. He actually looks much smaller, but he's just so nice and solid/sturdy/compact. The main thing I worry about w/ the smaller ones is heights and being underfoot, or them fitting into things / thru things (like fences, per se) that I don't want them to. |

Our Yorkie is 3lbs full grown. At 9 weeks when we got him he was 1.2 lbs. It is incredibly small. But I have to give him credit, they learn very quickly that they need to stay out of the way. I'm not sure but I think walking him on a leash helped him learn to avoid feet. We walk him with a short leash, so he walks on our left side along with us and not in front or behind. The only concern is him sneaking out of places. Now that we've had him for 2 years, there is nowhere on our property he can run out of. We also just got a 15lb puppy. And our Yorkie stays out of harm's way with him as well. |
Yes the puppy I just bought is around 16 weeks and only weighs 2.4 and charting to be 3.9 so she is going to be tiny also. The smallest one I have now is 8 lbs so this is going to be very different for me, having one so tiny! I'm really excited tho!! |
