Congratulations to Mocha for becoming a Therapy Dog

After months of hard work, my Mocha is finally certified as a Therapy Dog. This comes just days after his 5th Birthday. The vest and ID is a perfect Birthday Present! I'm so proud of him. We can now go volunteer together at hospitals, convalescent homes, libraries, airports, etc. This is going to be fun and rewarding for the both of us. My 12 year old nephew has also worked very hard and is certified to be Mocha's handler as well. He wants to take him to libraries to help kids read. He overcame serious stuttering problems himself and now wants to help others. I am so proud of both boys!!!

Attached is a photo of him and his new vest. I still have to get it engraved with his name and the Therapy Dog organization's logo but can't wait to share it.

Congratulations to Mocha and your nephew. Good luck starting your pet therapy journey.


Macy and I are a registered pet therapy team and visit a nursing home once a week. The friends we have made in the nursing home are special people. You will enjoy every minute.


Good luck to your nephew and his therapy visits. How admirable that he has overcome something in his life and wants to help others.

Congratulations to Mocha, you and your nephew!! You will bring such joy to people just being there...when I had PT, a lady had her therapy miniature poodle there and it made my day! Mocha will bring such joy to all who meet him! :)

That is so great! It is just amazing what a difference that a little dog and a child can make in a hospital or nursing home. Bless you.

Thank you all for taking the time to give positive feedback. All the hard work will be worth it if we can brighten one person's day. From the words of our trainer, some of the seniors may not remember your dog a few minutes from now, but at this moment, their smiles are the best reward we can get.

Congratulations! You obviously have a very loving and generous family (two & four legged, of course); very inspiring! May I ask, what is required of one's dog in order to have it certified? I assume a lot would be the dog's natural characteristics (i.e. calm, social, etc)...Did you have to pass a test of some sort? I'm sorry--I mainly wanted say congratulations and to express my gratitude for your generosity of spirit.
