Is this normal? Mickey lost his last canine tooth on the top last night and now he is drooling uncontrollably. He drooled all over the bed last night and today his mouth and beard are dripping with it. He has never done that with any of the other teeth. Should I call the vet? |
Huh...that sounds like an awful lot of drool...? I think if it were me, I'd place a call to one of the vet techs and ask them to run it by your vet. |
One canine tooth does not hold in saliva. Could it be that something in his mouth is hurting him? Sounds like he is not swallowing properly or he would not have drool running out of his mouth to that degree. I would get him in for a check up right away. |
I took him to the vet and they didn't find any reason for it. He is cutting 10 teeth at this moment that he lost all at one time. They thought maybe that was the problem. |
That makes sense. Human babies start to drool a lot when they are cutting teeth -- why not puppies? |

Better safe than sorry! Glad he's okay! |
Thank you for your answers. He is back to normal today as of about 3 this morning it stopped as suddenly as it started. He came over and laid his little head on my shoulder and his beard was dry, praise the Lord. |
