Help!!! After graduating from college in May I moved back home withmy mom. My sister and her son who is now 1 years old lives there as well. The issue that I am having is Honey onlylikes my nephew when he is sitting at the table dropping her food from hischair. When he comes to close to me Honey growls at him. She even go as far aschasing him down the hall growling because she knows he will run. I don’t knowwhat is wrong with her or how to get her to stop. Please HELP!!!! |
I think your baby is a little jealous and protective over you. My suggestion would be is move out before the little child gets bit. I would not trust Honey around children at all. There are a lot others on this forum who can help but trust with a child and dog is a must. Hope all goes well for you. Susan |
This is a very dangerous situation for the child AND the dog. Get an expen for the dog and a playpen for the child and keep them separated. Only let one of them run free, never together. When the child is able to sit still allow the dog to check him out, teach them both to be calm. Please don't let them run together. Toddlers and Yorkies are very fragile. PS. I wouldn't let Honey eat toddlers food. She may become food aggressive or FAT or sick. |
Are you moving out on your own soon? If not, I really think you need an xpen, an IRIS pen, or you need to tether your kiddo to you at all times to keep the child and dog safe. |
She does not eat toddlers food she eats regular food that we would eat. I have now start putting her up because he would feed her then when he ran out of food if he had any in his mouth he would take it out and give it to her (NASTYYYYY). I didnt even think about the danger of them running together. It didnt even cross my mind to get an xpen as many times as I have seen threads about this. Honey is always with me and in my lap for the most part but there are times when she is down when he is down as well. I knew she was jealous because when she is in my lap and he sits beside me she will allow him to rub her and sometimes when they are on the floor she licks his fingers (for some reason he thinks its funny). I was thinking about moving but I am in the process of opening a home for abused and neglected girls and I know I will have to stay there for about a year so I didnt want to waste the money. I see I have alot to think about now. Thanks for the replys it looks like I will be heading to petsmart today after work. |
