traveling with my 6 month old yorkie Hello everyone!! My name is Chelsea and my yorkie's name is Reese Maxwell :) I am new here but was looking for some advice! My husband is in the navy which makes travel very frequent. In the end of September we drove from California to New York. My yorkie was 4-5 months old and we were headed to NY for leave. However our leave is over and now we have to fly out of the country, and taking three flights on three different days to do so. I asked my vet what I could use for his ears and keep him calm on the plane, considering he will be sitting with me on the plane. She told my husband Benadryl. But I'm not sure about how much to gice. Also I heard of some D.A.P. to help calm him down. Can anyone give me advice on maybe what they used successfully. We leave in just a couple days so any advice you could give me would be very helpful!!! TIA !!! |
Hi and welcome to YT :)! You can give 1-2mg per pound of Benadryl. DAP=Dog Appeasing Pheromone and you could get a spray or a collar w/ DAP. Some other travel tips: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/tra...you-bring.html |
Try the Benadryl before you travel because it does not always calm dogs down sometimes it can make them hyper. |
Thanks Ladies! Noone suggests the D.A.P ? |
they have the spray for dap or they have a collar, I would try it |
