MY uncle smokes in front of my PUP! I live with my uncle and I keep telling him not to smoke in front Zoe (3 months) but he still does when I'm not there. I am constantly yelling at him to not do that but I can't control him when I'm not there!! I smoke myself but I always go to another room and close the door so that Zoe is not exposed to smoke. I want my uncle to play with Zoe but he keeps smoking in front of him. ARGH....WHAT DO I DO???? |
Why don't you both quit smoking!!! It's pretty hard to get someone not to smoke when your not around. Good luck |
Oh BTW...Zoe stays in my room. My uncle would bring him downstairs and play with him yet smokes in front of him. |
My husband smokes too and i tell him to leave Cali in the bedroom if I'm gone and he's going to smoke, but I know he doesn't listen. |

Smoking is such an issue from the get-go - that it's hard to bring up in any pet forum without a great deal of controversy. I have several smokers in my family (most have quit), and we have always smoked around our pets. We do not blow smoke in their faces - and more often than not - they are across the room, outside, or in another part of the house. But, anyway, to my knowledge we have never had any problems because of it. All of our dogs have lived long and healthy lives...and the few health problems they have had were never the result of having been around smoke. I, personally, wouldn't make an issue of one person smoking occasionally around my dog. But that's me. I know for a fact that a lot of people think this is the absolute worst thing in the world!!!! I am a smoker. I smoke outside my house. I don't want my house or kids or furbabies to stink of smoke. But, that's my preference and my choice. You live in your uncle's house. He can pretty much do as he likes but no, he shouldn't get your dog from your room unless he feels bad and thinks the dog is in there too long. |
I agree with Kimberly. It is still your uncle's house so you cant do much other than making sure the puppy is in another room when he smokes. Aside from that it is not only the fact that the smoke stays on their coats but the same consequences humans have when they are passive smokers. |
I agree with Kimberley , it is your uncle's house . |
Thanks guys for your feedback. Its actually HALF my uncles house but he still has every right to smoke. I went tot he movies last night and left Zoe with him with no smoking instructions and my unlce really listened!! He didn't smoke until I came hom and brought Zoe to my room. |
