Bath My yorkie is 3 months old. When should I give him a bath and how often? |
Welcome to Yorkie Talk. You can bathe your pup any time and as often as needed. Use mild products formulated for dogs. Make sure the room is warm. |

Yep, totally agree. You may want to blow dry him afterward so that he doesn't get too cold. Welcome to YT! |
yup, just never use hot setting on the blow dryer. Warm or cool is good but might use cool when the season/room is kind of warm and when they are a little more older, also keep the dryer moving some so you don't accidentally make it uncomfortably warm for them (this would depend on how your hairdryer works as about all of them varies some). You might also start on the low setting so it's not as loud and the air is not as forceful. Most bathe 1-2 times a month, some more, some less. It depends on when they either get really dirty or stinky :P I bath my girl every 2 weeks and sometime in one week if she gets a bit smelly and have her at the groomers at least once a month for her total maintenance. |
DInkster gets a weekly bath. DH washes, I dry. Most important I think is to make the water comfortably warm. Sometimes, I even warm his towel in the dryer. Also, I use a hair dryer on him after. the only resistance during the entire process is he dislikes having the hair dryer blow on his face. I accommodate this because he is so well behaved during the rest of the process. Good luck! |
