Why is balance so hard to get?
 
My vet doesn't even have a fax as required by the website. Going thru my vet to get balance it will not work for me. She sold me what she carrys. Pet forum ....
Thus looking into Petdiets won't work for me either because they recommend Balance it!
Now what do I do....

You know I saw a post here a few weeks ago about an alternative to balance it from a small California company...I can't remember the name...or who posted it -lol, really helpful huh?- I watched the video link...I will see if I can find it for you :)

Wow! That thread got really nasty really quick. As you can see I posted the first response and I guess I never checked it after that, I'm sorry to have linked that I think. Just a disclaimer- I don't actually use either product and do not home cook, I am not knowledgable about either product. Best of luck to you!

Balance it only needs to contact your vet if your dog is under a year old or has a medical problem, it's necessary to give your dog the proper diet and not risk their health.

I'd talk to your vet.

Balance It is not hard to get. Does your pup have medical issues that require your vet's permission? I am sure that if you contact Balance It they will give you other options for your vet to contact them.

I don't think it was nasty at all. People just feel strongly about helping others make educated choices for their pups.

As for the poster, here is a recent post by her. In the end, she is back with Balance It.

Balance it isn't hard to get. If your vet doesn't have a fax, have your vet give them a call about another alternative. If your vet won't do that, then perhaps a new vet would be more respectful of your desire to choose from among the available options for your animal!

You're incorrect about petdiets. They use balance it, human supplements, and lately she is using Chef's Complete by Petgrocer. I just did a reformulation for my Daisy and she made her a diet using Chef's complete. Her healthy pet recipes now call for chefs complete. I haven't actually tried it yet.

Yep, I did go back to BalanceIt. Thank you guys for commenting on that thread because I thought about it and I feel more safe with BalanceIt. Justfoodfordogs had a lot of flaws for me to trust it fully.

You can email Dr. Delaney from BalanceIt and he can email the form to your vet if they don't use fax. BalanceIT sends emails back really quickly.

The funny thing is, I found a lot of recipes on the Wooflink website so I put the ingredients from their recipes into the BalanceIT generator until it's all balanced and Chloe likes it. I just use the Wooflink blog for ideas.

She's currently eating these Chicken Veggie Balls with macaroni. WOOFLINK - Hip designer dog clothes: CHICKEN & VEGGIE BALLS

BabieChloe, Im glad you found the posts helpful. I'm sorry if I delivered my views too directly or you perceived it as harsh/ugly. I have always tried to help you though.

By the way, PetDiets is now using Chefs Complete supplement in her recipes for healthy dogs (and some consults too). It's about half the price of BI. I have a bag, but haven't started it yet.

I must be a little slow....I thought Balance It was a vit. and mineral powder ...but it's a premix??:rolleyes:
