Some People are Just Unbelievable!!!
 

Over the weekend I took TJ and Roxy to the Groomers. On the way I stopped for Gasoline. Of course TJ is on my lap at full attention, ready to jump out the window into the women attendents arms...He Just Loves People, plus he always has to be involved in everything that is going on. Well, she came over to get my $ and all I had was $100. She was kinda upset, b/c now she had to go back into the store and get me change. When she came back to my window, she started coughing...she finally took a step away to finish her coughing. When she came back to my window, I lowered the window to get my change. She starts to count ($5 and $1 - I needed $90 back) then she sees TJ. So, now she sticks her hand in my window for TJ to lick her hand... :mad: I WAS SO MAD!!! Thankfully, I was able to pull TJ away before he could lick her (dirty) hand. I said to her, "I'd rather he not do that". She said "why?" I said back to her that "your hands are dirty, you are working with gasoline!" She got really mad now and said, "No they are not, I wear gloves and I wash my hands!" I said, "I watched you this whole time and you weren't wearing gloves this time!" She was so angry with me, she finished counted my $ and pretty much threw it into my car and walked away!!!

Can you believe the nerve of some people??? If the roles were reversed and someone pointed out to me that my hands were (obviously) dirty, especially from gasoline (and touching money), I would COMPLETELY understand and say, "oh, you are right, sorry!"

Oh no...oh well she obviously has no manners. Sorry to hear that. At least she didn't get to your baby. :D

And what about her just coughing all over her hands and getting all of her germs all over them, your right people are unbelievable!!!

That is ridiculous....you had every right to do that i wouldnt want my dog licking that either.

You defintely did the right thing!! There is no reason she should have even tried to touch your little one without asking!!

That's terrible. I am also in shock that you have attendents at gas stations. We have to pump it ourselves. No such thing as Full service in Illinois!!

I know...it's the same here in Orlando, Fl. Forget others helping you..haha. I read the post and was a little confused thinking "they still do that?". Your lucky!

Well, here in New York it is pretty much SELF-SERVE...But you can always find FULL-SEVRE too!

I prefer Self-Serve. B/c it always seems that the attendents are very sloppy with the gas pumps, either hitting your car with it, dripping gas down your car, leaning on your car, this list can go on and on and on!!!

(It was just the first gas station I saw, and I REALLY needed gas!!!!)

I was born and raised in New Jersey and they are a 100% FULL SERVE Gasoline State. It is actually against the law to pump your own gas in New Jersey! :eek:

Does she not understand that even though she may or may not have washed her hands that you didn't want to risk getting your pup sick from the chemicals that the soap may or may not have gotten rid of? Gasoline is a very hard chemical to get off clothes and anything else it comes in contact with. She should have known better. Well now she knows.

You shouldn't feel bad about telling this woman that you didn't want him licking her hand, she's obviously been working with gasoline, and that can't be safe...She should have at least said she was sorry!

I'm a transplant married to a Jersey Boy, and that is one of my favorite things about this state!!! :p

When MeganS and I were on out roadtrip to pick up Widget in PA, my gas was getting low, but had to wait until I got to Jersey to get gas!

LOL Poor Meggie was a nervous wreck!! (I didn't tell her that my car tells me how many miles I can go before I run out of gas! ;) )

The part of your story that is scary is how the woman didn't even think that her hands were dirty! A sneeze you can't see, but she HAD to see all the gas station dirt!!! Meanwhile, I'm so bad that I keep a container of anti-bacterial Handi Wipes in my cup holder between the seats! :p

Way to go mommy, you did a great job protecting your baby!

Ewww. That is so gross, i wouldn't want someone whom i dont even know putting their hands IN my car let alone touching my dog!! They've been dealing with dirty money, and Gas all day who knows when the last time she washed her hands was!
I would have done the same thing. Good job!
