Snowsuits for dogs Anyone have any suggestions... keeping in mind I have a big boy (17/18lbs)... I ordered the Hurrta overalls from baxterboo but the legs are WAY too short and the back is prob a bit too small as well. Hurrta measurements are so confusing. Hurtta Dog Outdoor Overalls - Black at BaxterBoo I ordered the 14S and it was too small, I think he may need the 14L but they don't have it in stock. Anyway he has a 19" girth, is about 15" long I believe, and about 9-10" tall from foot to top of shoulder with a 12" neck if it matters. I could try and find a 14L somewhere else but they're a lot pricier everywhere else... Just mainly looking for a 'jumper' style that covers all 4 legs so we can avoid the clumps of snowballs this winter. |

I've been eyeing the Hurtta for Chase but was confused on sizing too. He has 2 snowsuits, both from Petsmart. They have had different ones that come out in the fall, and the first year we got him the medium and it fit perfectly. I got him another the next year (it was cuter lol) and even though they are both the same brand (Top Paw), the 2nd one is just a little on the big side. He's about 16-17" girth I believe (12ish lbs). Calvin has a Puppia snowsuit, well he has 2 but one is a little too big and the other is kinda small but still works. It's super hard to find stuff that fits them. They are both skinny, but long. I'm hoping Petsmart has the good snowsuits again this year. The last year or 2 they haven't had the leash holes in the backs, and that's what I need. I was eyeing this Ruffin It Snowsuit - Black & Grey at BaxterBoo, but Chase is a puller and I don't want to rely on the D ring. |
This is the size chart for Hurrta. I think the overalls are more for keeping pups dry rather than warmth. Katie has the Hurrta raincoat and the waterproof fleece jacket, and both keep her very dry. This overall has been discontinued, so there are places that have it heavily discounted. GW Little has it for $37.00, but the largest size is the 14M. It has been replaced with the combat suit. This is a lot more money, but it's warm. It's like the waterproof fleece jacket that Katie has. Hurrta is really made well and it lasts. Hurtta waterproof fleece overalls |

I have a hard time with sizing with Hurrta. I had to return a few of their harnesses. Jackson is in between. Since his girth is a little over 19"... the 18" size was too small in harnesses and the 24" size was too big lol. But I do love their stuff a lot. Great quality. PS- Check out your local Marshalls, TJMaxx and Homegoods, apparantly they've got Hurtta winter coats for less than $13!!! |

Brit. . It is good customer service. . I love that about her. . . I have to tell you I found a hurrta rain suit for $2 at TJMaxx and more in the summer. . It was marked down, again and again. About 7 times lol . . And the best part it was Galen's size !! Sometimes you can find a bargain. . . |
I also purchase my Hurrta products from Katja (eurodog designs.com). I use code Havanese10 for a 10% discount on non-sale items. She knows that Katie is a Yorkie, but I am still able to use the discount code. I know her shipping policy has changed, but I've never paid for shipping. |

Well the 14M Hurtta overalls fit my dads JRT mix Lilly perfect so she is going to keep them. She hates getting wet so it will be great in the rain and the snow. She doesn't get cold all that easily in the snow anyway so not too worried about warmth. |
I ended up buying this: Snow Overall Dog Coat by Theo It is being shipped this week and I'm hoping the XL fits!! According to size measuremnts on site, it should, but ya never know... |
