Approximately when does the coat change? I'm not looking for much of a color change with Shelly being he is a Biewer and his fathers adult colors and markings are pretty much exactly like his, but I guess I'm kind of hoping that the texture changes a bit...lol. His black fur is fine. Silky, never tangles, etc. the white hair, though...whew, it tangles and mats so easily. I gave him his first cut with the electric clippers today so it's much easier right now, but when I grow it, it's a mess. I guess this is kind of a weird question considering I'm not even sure if a Biewer coat changes like a Yorkie's...but any feedback is appreciated. Thanks in advance. |
I think that Joey stopped matting around the age of 1. My Ralphie, who has more of a cotton coat, still tangles at the age of 8! Sheldon is a little doll, and sometimes just finding the right cut can help. |
My Bailey Biewer is almost seven coat stayed pretty much same cotton coat but very sidt texture. It's easier for me to keep him trimmed into puppy cut. I leave Hus feathers longer, neaten up the feet and legs, and his face trimmed. He still tangels brush him every other day to keep tangle free. |

Yes, I love some of the short cuts, and it sure can make grooming time more pleasant for both of you! |
