OMG Never Have Seen My Puppy Sleep I kid you not. I have had Sammie for 2 1/2 months and I have never seen him sleep or even lay down for more than 1 minute. He is either running around the house or playing with his toys or running in and out of the house. I think I am going to tape him when I am sleeping or at work. Maybe he sleeps then. But when I am home of the weekend. I am with him all day and no sleeping is being done!! LOL |

That's crazy. When it was just Lexi she slept all the time. At around 7, when my son went to sleep she would then run around and play like crazy until bedtime. Now that we have Parker, she only sleeps when Parker does, but other than that she is running around playing. |
I know terriers have a lot of energy but this is crazy!! |
That's how I feel about my new puppy, Ruby. She's nothing like her big sissy was as a pup around the same age. I feel like I have a newborn child again. |
I have raised 4 puppies, all now past. They were all super hyper, never napped while I was home. To me your pup is a normal yorkie baby |
Yup a puppy that is going to put me in my grave!! Just was running around the back yard trying to get my Newspaper out of his mouth!! LOL |

He could be chilly. Sometimes, if you put a shirt on them they will warm up, calm down and pass out (go to sleep). |
My Yorkie is 8 yrs old and he is still going all day long rarely sleeps during the day and when I am at home, he literally bugs me all day long even with walks. Mine has to keep busy all day long and because I believe Yorkies are so smart that they get bored and needs A LOT of mental stimulation. Sometimes..it is also just their personality...I have seen ONE Yorkie that is laid back but he is a Yorkie Shih-Tzu mix so that doesn't count since I think he takes after the Shih-Tzu temperament. |
my last 4 pups all now past started slowing down at age 9 y/o. My last girl was still getting into mischief at age 12 y/o, but did slow down at 10. You are in for the long haul as far as being hyper and very active. One of my pups that was super fast in running slowed down at close to 10 y/o slow enough that I could finally run as fast as she did when I needed to capture her lol. Just giving you a heads up lol. My adopted lil boy at 3 y/o is quite diff. then my past 4 females, he's not quite as hyper, could be from his prev. owner. I allowed my girls to be the lil free spirits they were meant to be, I could hear them all singing "girls just wanna have fun" I have to assume my lil boy wasn't allowed to be him self, he had to be a little gentleman, he is now with me and I want him to be a little free spirit, he is learning, he has much more freedom with me, and a big yard for running and hunting, but he is still a lot calmer then my girls were. Ya gotta love them lil yorkies. |
They are high energy for sure. The only time I've seen Razzle plop down is after a 3-4 hr hike, with swimming in the middle of the walk. But 20 minutes later he was up and ready to go again :-) How-ever he is almost 6yrs old now, and does like to nap besides Moms lap, but in flash he can be up and about. We can have a 1/2 day of dock jumping and by the time we reach home, he is raring to go again! I have found my dogs do kind of adjust to my lifestyle - for eg: we like to start slowly in the morning. I get up quite early and the pups are okay to get up with me, but I do have my coffee first, before walking them - I have a backyard to let them out in - after a cup of java, out for the walks we go. |
