Then i started taking him for about a block walk and he went each time i fussed over him saying good boy potty. To teach him what that word ment. Today he went outside all three times something else i did was write when he seemed to go. Morning and night was easy and regular. If he dont go out when i take him i put the diaper belt on him. Hopefull he will learn now to let me just take him to back and go. But he expects me to take him for a walk. Even sits down and wont go into the yard if i dont walk him . Little buggar | All our Yorkies are subborn, like my husband LOL. You are doing the right thing. Teaching them the work "go potty" and making praise when he does what you are asking. Many dogs also don't like going in the yard, an many times its because the owner brings them right back inside when they "go" At least when they are on a walk they can "go" and still be outside for a while. Maybe this is the case?
If not, here are some great tips Dog Toilet Training | Think Outside the (litter) Box if your dog insists on sometimes going in the house. For my Jaz, I leave this as an option for her. She hates the rain and wet grass. God forbid her paws get wet!!!! Best of luck with your little guy. I'm sure he will come around. As my name here implies, I've been talking to people about this for years, and every dog is different. Of course, Yorkies are the smartest, and cutest, and most lovable |
