CT repairable? The reason I decided on a yorkie, is one of the guys I take care of has a yorkie poo. Cutest little guy I have ever met, and stubborn as a bull. Anyway, before I joined this community, I thought Amarok had allergies. Once I started learning, I'm starting to think he has a CT. Is there a way to repair a CT? He's 4 years old and I just love him to the ends of the earth. It breaks my heart to hear his "cough" mostly when he's excited. Mandy momo to Noni |
Hi, I have been noticing a lot of dogs having coughing/ breathing issues this year. In Buster's case it is allergy related and perhaps that is the case with your Yorkie as well. Here is a link to different videos so you can compare your Yorkie's cough. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/die...d-trachea.html Best wishes. We always go to the worst scenario when we worry so I would go to a vet and have them check your baby out. |

Surgery is still very experimental and I would not recommend it. There are medicines though that can help as well as keeping him at the right weight and not walking him when it's hot. My moms yorkie has it pretty decently and went on medicine for it twice a day and almost never coughs. |

I have had pups with both. A collapsing trachea is much different. A reverse sneeze concerned me, but my vet told me I shouldn't worry about it. My little girl did fine with it. |
