Is it good for my yorkie? Does anyone use fish oil pills for their yorkie? if so could you explain the benefits, dosage, brand etc. Also does anyone use coconut oil externally on their yorkies coat? Is that recommended ? Does anyone recommend any supplements for yorkies ? My baby Lana is 6 months old and eat Royal Canin, no additional supplements. No allergies or health issues. She scratches a bit and has been to the vet for it and they said she was fine. Any suggestions would be great. |
I use Nordic Naturals omega 3 oil, plus 1/2 teaspoon of coconut oil for my guys daily. I don't use the coconut oil externally, I add it to their food. Their coats are soooo much softer & silkier since I started adding it! |
Omega oils are great for dogs, so yes, I do use them. I like Ark Naturals Royal Coat here: ![]() I like it for many reasons, but one of them is bc it already has the needed Vit E in it so the body can process the omega oils. Otherwise, you'd have to supplement w/ Vit E capsules, which is a pain in the butt. |
Since my dog has scratchy skin, I'm intrigued by this... Just in my few minutes of research it's saying to use 1/4 teaspoon in their food. Sorry if I sound dumb, but how? I feed Billi kibble and the coconut oil I have is more of a solid. Do I melt the oil and then pour it on her food, or would I have to feed her a wet food? Since it mentions it can upset their tummies when starting this, should I supplement with pumpkin? I've wondered about using this stuff for her, so I'm glad you asked about this, Lanasmom. Thanks! :) |
