Getting in on the Act.
 

We have lately noticed (accorded on here) a change in Crystal's nature whereby she had become more bossy and assertive? I even posted how she even became a bit 'toothy' to me at one stage. Recently, I have been in an Amateur Theater production and my wife, being an ex Actress and TV producer had been helping me with both learning my script and directing it's delivery over the preceding two months. One part was very argumentative and involved us remonstrating each other heatedly, for divided beliefs etc. With the production past, the rehearsals have also of course ceased to be.

Crystal is now slowly returning to her former and sweeter persona. Had she picked up on what she saw as dispute and unhappiness, could it have affected her? Perhaps this strange and foreign behavior was unsettling, as she saw us arguing heatedly one moment and then collapsed with laughter the next? All very perplexing maybe for a little 'Yorkie' brain to comprehend? Perhaps she felt excluded from the production?

I recall that William Powell tried to purchase his co-star 'Asta' after the Film 'The Thin Man (1934) was produced, as the dog (Wire Haired Fox Terrier) interacted so well with him. The trainer declined thinking Powell merely wanted to exploit the dog's earnings in any future versions. Sadly that was not the case as Powell was just a dog lover and admired his fellow thespian with whom he had developed a special relationship...:)

I think she is probably picking up on it. Dutch does the same thing. Whenever the cat jumps up on the kitchen counters (which is a no no), I yelled at to get down. Whenever I yelled at her, Dutch starts barking at her too. :p

I can relate to the cat part, we have 3 cats, Gina tries to boss them around, and is really bad when she catches them doing something they aren't supposed to do. All animals are very sensitive to their surroundings and anything out of the norm will cause them to react differently to the situation. My suggestion if you have to do this again is to include her in a "make up" hug and kisses and tell her every things alright. Megan my last Yorkie, used to shake and shiver if my wife and I got into an argument, and always settled down after a hug and a few kisses between all three of us.
