Question on manhood after neutering Sometimes when Samson wakes up his whole penis (the part under the skin) going back towards his bum is all swollen looking. It's kinda hard to explain but it's all big and hard and actually has a bump further back all swollen on each side that look like testicles under the skin (but is not in the same spot they were originally). Does anyone know what I'm talking about???? Is this normal? It goes away so I didn't know if it's maybe like because he maybe has to pee right after waking up or what. I don't think it's everytime he wakes up but the first time I saw it it freaked me out a little. |
Does it go back down after his first pee in the morning? I know it's weird, but it's sort of hard to explain without pictures I guess. :) |
I know what you are talking about. The same thing happens to Gus but it happens at any time, not just after waking. We joke that he outwitted the doctor - managed somehow to keep his testicles. Now they are afraid to come back down. :D |
I know exactly what you are talking about. Logan had the same problem right after he was neutered. I've never had a male dog before so I freaked out. I called my vet, but didn't get her so I ran him out to my moms and by the time I got there it had gone down. My mom said that with the horses (she breeds quarter horses) that for a week or two after it would get real swollen any time they got arroused or had to pee and to just see if it got better. Well about 2 weeks after he was neutered he stopped getting those swollen lumps. I would say he'll be fine, but you might wanna call your vet just in case. |

I remember seeing that same thing.. Dont remember if it was before or after neutering?? But I haven't seen it in ages, so it must go away. Eventually. |
I can't remember the name, but there are 2 glands where you are talking about. I remember reading about it just about the time I noticed it on Reuger. I tried to search for it. Maybe someone will read this and remember what they're called. It's not anything to worry about just a part of their anatomy. |
