hey hon, I am not the enemy here, I am not saying you are doing anything wrong or trying to breed or show. I am telling you what other people are doing which makes buying a puppy very hard. Do you want a purebred puppy or a good looking bred to standard purebred puppy. When I bought my 4 past purebred yorkies I not only wanted a healthy puppy I also wanted a good looking dog that no one would say, are your sure he/she is purebred. |

Absolutely I want a beautiful and healthy pup and I definitely don't want ppl to have to guess her breed lol.. I think mixed breeds are beautiful and I would love a pretty malshi one day but I'm just in love with yorkies :). my sister has the issue with ppl guessing the breed of her "yorkie" because she looks totally off she looks crossed with a chihuahua or something |

ACA is a paper registry and not reputable. Your puppys' pic is rather unfortunate. The ears are down, the ears have not been shaved, the puppy does not look like it has been groomed for the picture. It could very well be a pure-bred Yorkie, but probably poorly bred. And for $1500 you should be able to get a pure-bred Yorkie from a show breeder..... |

New pup Thanks for the update on your search. I know it is hard to wade through all the breeders and find the one that is legit. But you are doing the right thing with all this research, and your patience will be rewarded. :-) This site sure gives one examples of bad breeders and the poor little sick pups they often produce. As long as 'breeders' can get big $$$s for tinies, they will produce them. Sad but true. Again hang in there, your ideal baby is out there! |

I would have to agree things have surely changed. I have found that even with Breeders there is diffently changes. I have had yorkies for at least 30 yrs or more. Most from breeders involved in the shows. I recently lost two of my precious older girls one last June and one in Feb of this yr. Broke my heart both had excellent pedigrees and from show lines. NO health issues beautiful coats and structure both were pets. I started my search and was connected quickly to a breeder that had a little male. I was told all about him and with my heart broken I was very vunerable . I jumped in and was so excited I got this little boy. I love him he is a darling little man. But my experience was not as it had been in the past. I am 65 and was more used to the breeder being honest and with integrity. I have learned a very hard way that is not always so these days. I did get all my papers and records eventually but with great efforts on my part. FIRST get your CONTRACT from the breeder do not leave with a puppy without it. I made the mistake of going through this same breeder again for a female puppie. I never got my contract because a friend of hers dilivered the puppy to me and said it would be mailed. So I trusted this Breeder. She had shared she had been going through multiple family situations so I gave her space for her issues. I spayed my puppiy I had her checked out by my vet just I had done with the little male. I felt I did everything required by me as a responible and loving pet owner. Any way never got papers of any kind. I text this breeder numerous times she responded I didnt think you wanted papers. It had been had not yet been a year. My vet had suggested that I wait until female came into her first season before spaying her. So I was following instructions. My little girl was spayed latter. But I still expected papers. I had paid 1500 for her. I love this little girl too but shes larger than I expected so is my male. I did not see the parents but believed this breeders WORDS a very active Breeder in the shows too with beautiful yorkies..Telling me the puppies were going to be small. Apparently she had not even registered the litter or we could get our papers from akc. I'm sorry I shared so much but there things we need to learn. It may prevent us from being taking advantage of even by the so called good Breeders. There are excellent breeders out there as I know this too. But to find them is a challenge. I did get another puppy from a very good Breeder who has been around along time she has shown yorkies for years. She demonstrated all the attributes of an excellent caring breeder. Including handing me all my papers with pedigees and shot records.Emailing pics and staying in touch. Along with puppie needed items for our trip home. Such a difference. Again please forgive all the time I have taken to share this but it hurts so bad when you have expectaions that people are going to be honest and up right. There is much more than I have actually shared here but enough to hopfully help you take your time the wait could be well worth it all. |
