Thank you! Thank you, everyone. I truly appreciate your input. I know this breeder had tested the mother and father, and according to her, there were no issues. The Dad has been since retired.I will keep you posted on what happens.Fingers crossed everything will work out well for our puppy. I do want to make sure he gets the best care. I do want to say that I agree with all of that I don't think it's the breeder's fault that they had a puppy with liver disease. It is part of the breed and can show up at any time. I just think she should have tested the dog and not convinced me that the test was not worthwhile. In my opinion, that's what a "reputable breeder" should do. My last breeder who provided bile acid tests when I purchased the puppy holds her dogs until 4.5 months. Clearly she knows by then that she is selling a healthy dog. In any event, many thanks for your well wishes and help on this.:) |
