In this home lived a Spanish Mongrel beach stray puppy called Paco - repatriated to a fully blown Brit by personal import (kay?). A Burmese brown, (Amber), a Burman (Samantha) and an aristocratic Brown Havana (Raffles). Amber had 5 kittens and I never realized at this distance what fantastic fun and memories they'd invoke as I grow older. Especially with the three cats up on top of the kitchen cabinets watching the unfortunate Catalonian dupe, breaking things below them, as he blundered about like a retarded frog, in the milk he'd just paddled in!. There they'd sit, like Harpy's in their nest, waiting for our rushed entry to discover today's crockery write - offs! Three feline staring heads on one side, turning in perfect syncopation to study us, as we entered, as much as to say - have a look folks - what a smuck?
Their all gone now, my late wife 17 years ago. I can't believe how the time has flown! Remembering those happy days, I found this tonight, so evocative - and a truly smashing web site to explore! |
