Premolar coming in sideways... Agnes was spayed at 6 months and the vet said there were no baby teeth that needed to be pulled at that time. However, by 8 months she had a baby upper canine and the adult canine in the same spot. I mentioned to the vet to please check the other upper teeth coming in too. It appeared to me that one of the premolars was coming in sideways. They did not pull it. I wish I could get a picture of it but she won't let me. It can't be doing her any good with chewing and I wonder if it is causing her any pain. Has anyone else experience this with there yorkie? Just wondering if this is normal. Any advice is greatly appreciated! |
Will she let you press on it, palpate it? That's one way to figure out if there is any tenderness...of course, be careful as you don't want to get bit if it hurts her. I haven't heard of a tooth growing in sideways like this, but I think it could possibly be a problem. It doesn't sound urgent, per se, but perhaps have it checked out the next time you're at the vet? |
