Stroller for people with handicap. I was wondering if anyone would have any input as to which stroller would be better for a woman with a handicap? I have a very bad back, and arthritis in my knees. I would like to get a stroller that would also help to keep me balanced, while I walk my new puppy. I was wondering, would a 3 or 4 wheel stroller be better for me? Thank you in advance. ;) |

As mentioned, just make sure you don't get one that's too heavy. I love mine, but don't always use it because it's hard for me to lift it in & out of the trunk. I've got my eye out for a lighter one, but haven't seen one yet. |
Thank you, I have been checking the weights of the ones I'm looking at, very valid point. ;) My major concern is which would give me more stability while I'm wheeling it? The 3 wheel strollers, look like they could be easily tipped, but I don't know if that's true or not? The 4 wheel strollers, look like they would be a more stable platform. Something that would help me stay more balanced as I'm walking? Sort of like a shopping cart essentially. But honestly, I don't know? :confused: Maybe, the 3 wheel strollers are not as tipsy as they look? :quizzi: |
I was thinking about the Dogger because it's very stable if you put pressure on it, but you've made a good point about being able to lift it out of the car. If you have help with that, I'd suggest that you get a solid one. My husband is 6'4" and has had eight back operations that have made it very painful to walk or stand. He's fallen a few times when he has put too much weight on something that was not steady enough to support him, so that's why I'm so cautious. |
I have an older model of this stroller, amazon lists the shipping weight as 15lbs.  Amazon My grandmom has used it to steady herself, but she doesn't really lean on it, I don't think it would be good to put a lot of weight on. It might be too hard for you to close though, you have to pull the 2 plastic rings on the side and kinda fold it in half, I have trouble doing it sometimes. I was playing with this stroller in a store Amazon.com : Pet Gear Travel Lite Pet Stroller... I don't like it at all, it was harder to close than mine, didn't take up much less room when folded, my dog had less room, it wasn't as stable, and I didn't like the umbrella handles. |
I really only need it to help balance me, lisaly, I wouldn't have to put any real weight on the stroller. That's one of the very ones was looking at, that you posted, ShowGirlLola. Thanks! I'm really thinking the four wheels will be better suited for me. :) |
I guess I am one of the rare ones here. I use the old "umbrella" style baby stroller for my two fur babies and they love it. It is very light weight, turns easily, stores without a problem and has place for dog supplies. This stroller belonged to one of my grandchildren years ago and now has been recycled. We have three fur babies, but only two like to ride and they just sit side by side and take in the sights. |

I am disabled. Lots of back and shoulder problems. I have the dogger. It is not too bad. I love that it has adjustable handle. It makes it comfortable for me. It is extremely sturdy. It never has tipped over. It also has air filled tires and rear shocks. . |
