Jumping?
 
How do you keep your yorkie from jumping off things aside from just never letting them be on couch, bed, etc? My little yorkie thinks she's full grown and tries to jump off of the couch, I don't want her to hurt herself.

As for the couch. If she was able to jump on the couch I was okay with her jumping off the couch. For the bed, I didnt let her on the bed until recently when she one day jumped into the bed on her own. And she's only 5 lbs!

When my babies were learning they could jump on the sofa and the bed, if I was not where I could watch them I would put "stuff" on the sofa and bed to prevent them from jumping until they were big enough to do it without hurting them selves. You can use pillows, blankets, anything, put it close to the edge where they can see there is a blockage. Only allow them on sofa or bed when you are with them,then watch them like a hawk, if you see they want off, pick them up and place on the floor. All my puppies were not tiny, at adults their weights ranged from 10 to 17 lbs, so at age 5 or 6 months they were strong enough to jump on and off things.

Oh, I forgot to mention I still don't like her jumping off the bed. Just too high in my opinion, but she had done it a couple times.

My DH built me a ramp that is beside the bed. Mine uses that to get on and off the bed.

My husband made Sophie a ramp to get on and off the couch. We have steps for her to get up and down from the bed. She is really good at using them. Sometimes when she is on the bed she will look over as if she is going to jump off but I just say no you go down the steps and she does.

She is still young, 10 weeks and about 2 lbs.
