After A Lot of Research Need Advice Please After a lot of research I need advice. I know you cant make the decision for me. I have a 5 month old that has this quick fast cough. It last a second and it happens about two times a day. After research it sounds like CT. I had a maltese that started to faint at 8 aboujt once a year because of it and then at 12 I had to put her down because she would faint 3 times a week from it. I don't want to go through this again. I am afraid that if Sammie is showing signs at 5 months he might not live very long. So I am afraid to bond with him. I am seriously thinking of bringing him back to the breeder but my 9 year old daughter will be devastated. Thanks for listening. |

I know from your other thread you said Sammie's cough sounds a little different from my Lexi's, but was wondering if you have a video you can post to compare to Lexi. I go to the vet tomorrow and will show her the video, but I still don't know if the vet can be 100% sure just based on the video. I'm also in a dilemma. I am supposed to be getting a second pup in a couple weeks, but with Lexi possibly having CT and probably going to need surgery to fix/remove her lower canine, I'm not sure if I should still get the pup. |
Hi Lexi's mom. It is so quick and I never know when he is going to do it that I can't catch it on video. But Lexis sounds more horse and like a honk and Sammies is a quick fast cough kinda like when we clear our throat. Would love to know what your vet says. Yours sounds like Kennel Cough. |

I know what you mean. I started video taping Lexi every time I saw her get water just hoping to catch it. She probably thought I was crazy. I tried to get a better one today. She was running around like crazy and went to get some water and she coughed like three times in a row. I had my phone out to record and realized I forgot to hit the play button lol. |
lol that's something I would of done! I would have to have my phone on all day because you never know when Sammie is going to do it!! |

Hi Wileys mom. it definately is not a reverse sneeze. My shih tsu had that and it sounds nothing like it. My husband thinks I am over worrying and he just has allergies because he is very itchy. Also my husband said he eats everything in site outside he probably has an irritated throat! |
You said you had a maltese who had CT. Does Sammy's cough sound anything like hers did? By the way, our vet appt. is in 1 hour....wish us luck! |
Good luck at the vet. Please let us know what happened. No his does not sound like my malteses but I was told by the vet that Sammies is a mild case at this point but could get to the point that my maltese did. Hers was a honking cough. I am trying to find out if it always gets worse or can it just stay as mild as it is now. Let us know how your puppy does!! |
Lexi has the ears like Sammie. She is too stinkin cute!! |
