Oh no, my yorkie likes the heat!
 
Come on Chris, it's only 102 and humid. Let's go catch lizards in the backyard! Last year when she was a puppy it was naptime in the hot part of the day around 5-7 PM, but no such luck this year lol. My little girl got used to Texas!

LOL my Allie is the same way, except she wants out after the damn squirrels. It's 103 outside, but no she doesn't want to come in. LOL
I told look Mom is HOT na dit's HOT out here so your coming inside.

Supposed to be in the 100's for the next week here in the DFW area.

Mine would drop dead in their tracks, playing like maniacs if allowed to do so! Outside is strictly OFF LIMITS from 12noon, until 4-5pm....I take a nap everyday at 2pm and everyone else in the house does too.....if momma aint happy, aint no body happy!!!! So everyone goes down with enthusiasm for naps, and they usually stay down until close to 4pm, wishing I could do that!!. Then it is clearly time to do "leaping lizard patrol", "squirrel scurry", "bird elevation" and all the water park games....These dogs and the heat are KILLING me! I should weigh about 50 lbs!!!!

You guys in Houston have it way worse than even we do in the San Antonio area. But it feels like Houston these last few days. Normally when we get temps in the 102 range it'll dry dewpoints into the high 50s, but we're getting those temps with dewpoints in the mid 60s to low 70s now in the hot part of the day. Until this week we had such a cool summer too. No 100s until this week and now it has been nothing but humid 100s with nothing but humid 100s in the 10 day forecast coming up!

Wow! I feel like a baby now. I just griped at my husband because he waited until 9:30 to go for our run and it was 82 and crazy humid, feels like 89. OK so I guess I should shut up and be thankful. I don't know how you do it in Texas. Barney also loves being outside in the heat, the cold, the rain. He would even go outside during storms if we let him. I kind of hate it for him that he's a little dog because he loves being outside so much.

My guys like the heat too. I let them out in the early afternoon, our patio & backyard gets full sun from 11-1pm...they'll lay out in the very warm, almost hot concrete sunning themselves! I have to go out there & scoop them up 1 x 1 & bring them in.:D

My girls are sunbathers too, and love laying on the patio in full sun. If it is 85 -90 degrees here the concrete is really hot.

I do allow mine out, BUT only for 10 minutes. I am with them at all times. Just getting Allie to stop being OCD about the squirrels is an on going thing. LOL

Uni loves the heat too! When I take them out in the back around 8 or 9am it can be pretty hot already. Toto will go pee but Uni will just lay down on the pavers and suntan. I can't even be barefoot out there and she's sunning herself! It hasn't been that hot here this summer at all. Mostly low 100s, but come on Uni!

I got her last summer and thought I got off easy with her not liking the heat. I guess she was used to northern Missouri where her breeder Deb lived at the time. And of course she loved winter out here last year. It'd be 35 with 25 mph wind and she'd be begging to go out for an hour at a time! But now it's the same at 102 degrees! She occasionally likes to lie in the Sun, but mostly it's chasing lizards and then jumping on my lap when she's done.
