Made a huge mistake! I was grooming Gunner yesterday since his hair has gotten so long. I was shaving his belly area and I cut off his pee string! Oh my goodness, what a mistake! Now his pee is hitting his front legs and he smells terrible! Is there anyway to get his stream to go back to where it belongs? This is horrible. It has only been since yesterday and has been a terrible mess already. I'm so upset... |
I made a similar mistake, cutting Teddy's string too short. I had to clip his chest hair and do extra washing daily while it grew back. |

I have one large male dog and I do shave him down but would never get that close to his private parts only because he would get very upset with me. I am so sorry that you are having to deal with this but I learned something new reading your thread. I never knew it was called a pee string so thanks and hopefully others will learn by your mistake. I do have a question. Is it the same with females? Is theirs called a pee string too? |

Yeah for females it's also the "pee string" ^^ my Kimchi has a fairly long one on her that my niece was calling her a boy x.x;; |
Just like a little boy! My Min Pin, Sassie hikes her leg like a little boy. Sometimes she squats and lifts and other times its straight up like a male dog. She is such a tom girl! Thank God she doesn't pee on herself. I really feel for you right now and like I said maybe others can learn by it. I know now and will stay clear of that area! |
He may adjust the pressure behind his stream as he adjusts to his new hair. Teddy did. :p I agree with you, I'm not a fan of the 'dry' shampoos. |

Thanks! I think I'll stay clear of that area on my females too! Other than cleaning of course. |
