I don't understand.... As some of you know, for the past few months I've been having health issues. But I still played with Jasper and have been his primary care giver. But lately he has been sleeping close to my husband. I can't even express how much this hurts my feelings. I just want to cry. I know this breed loves the whole family but, do they have 1 human they love the most. Have I lost Jasper to my husband as far as being his favorite human? Is there anything I can do to fix this? A lot of you know how much I love that little man. He is like our son. He will sleep in my lap when we are watching tv. But, I just don't get why he doesn't like to sleep curled up next to me anymore. I'm sorry for rambling on. I hope someone can help me understand and guide me in what to do. |
Don't worry! My boys are equally attached to me and their grandpa (dad lives with us). Teddy has gone through stages in which he stays closer to dad, and then he will stay closer to me. During thunderstorms, he only wanted dad. Now he wants to be with me. Be patient. Is this at night that he is sleeping closer to your husband? There could be a simple explanation. |

Thank you for easing my mind. I know I probably sound like a big baby but, it just crushes me when he does this every night now. I just can't help but be hurt. But, I pet him and give him night night kisses and make sure he's covered with his blankie. I'm pathetic aren't I? *sigh |

Max has been sleeping on his Cloud Nine bed rather than cuddling with me because I'm too hot (we don't like our a/c too cold in the summer). I miss him. Could be something simple like maybe you are sleeping differently (?) moving around more in your sleep. That was my problem with Teddy for awhile. Lately I have been sleeping like a stone, so he has been braver and sleeping next to me. |
Joel does the same thing. I'm still his favorite person but he sleeps with aunty:( She said it's normal because she's the aunt:) |
I felt so silly bringing this to the forum. Now I'm so glad and relieved that I did. I feel so much better about it. My DH keeps telling me that I'm his favorite human. In this case, I'm glad he's right. :p |

I'm in a similar situation, Lola has been glued to my mom lately. I think it's because she's been gone a lot lately and I've been in a lot of pain so I'm restless. |
Thank you so much Kristin for helping me yet again! You're wonderful! :) I think I may actually sleep much better tonight. :) |

The funny thing is.. when I brought Chloe home I was actually getting upset if anyone else wanted to feed Chloe or do anything for her first before I do it. I wanted Chloe to attach to me as her primary caregiver, lol. Don't worry that Jasper cuddles up to your hubby, I'm sure he is attached to you just as much as you are to him. :) Are you home more often than your hubby? It could be that he see's your hubby less often than you so at night he just wants to cuddle to your hubby. I'm the one who spends the most time with Chloe, so when someone else comes in the house - it's forget about mommy time!!! Sometimes she'll even pee from excitement! But after she calms down she's like my shadow, lol. She walks around after me and when I put my makeup on near the dresser she always lays down next to me and watches. You haven't lost Jasper to your husband at all so don't worry! :D Yorkies just get moody.. but they always remember who mommy is, ;) |
I would be happy bc you know when you're away he won't be traumatized by it. Some pups are too attached to one person I think and I would worry more if that were the case. Also realize that he may be more emotionally balanced and in a healthier frame of mind when he can let other people meet his needs. I can sympathize with you though, it does hurt one's feelings... just think about it from a different perspective. |
Thank you to all of you late night gals who gave me peace of mind last night so that I could sleep. Well the DH is out of town tonight so I know my Jasper will curl up next to me tonight. :D |
I wonder about this same situation too. I feed, play with, throw the ball at least a million times per day, let her outside, play in the yard with her, pretty much everything. Meanwhile, my husband doesn't do any of that. But who does she sleep with? I sometimes think because I'm the one who gives her a bath which she not fond of, brush her teeth, which she hates, and I also do her hair which is also not at the top of her 'fun things to do' list. Sometimes I just want to pick her up and cuddle her and she won't have any of it. It makes me feel bad, but then there are times when she really needs someone and I am that person. Like when she gets poop stuck on her bum and comes to find me with that 'momma help me' look on her sweet little face. Silly little pup. |
