For the past two days I've noticed my little Prada limping. I check the leg out by doing some rang of motion. She yelps when I get to the thigh. I'm at the vet now to get some X-rays. Pray for my little girl plz.

Hope she is ok but the vet is the best place to be if something is wrong. Please keep up updated.

They wanted to just give her antiflamatory drugs for two weeks in the hopes it's just a sore muscle, then do X-rays if that didn't work. I'm not taking any chances. I want X-rays STAT

There is no reason why you couldn't skip the X-rays and try Metacam for 2 weeks. The X-rays will not show an ACL tear and your vet should be capable of assessing her properly. If needed after 2 weeks of Metacam and crate rest a board certified Orthopedic vet would be your next step. Good luck

Pretty much that's what they did. X-Ray showed nothing so they gave her a 2wk supply of Carprofen with strick instructions of crating her and no playing. If this don't work they will send the X-rays off... Its just when your baby is hurt you can't see past your hand. Thanks for all the support.

It's odd to me they would charge you for x-rays, do them, then wait to send them off. Why wait? They already did them.

Give the meds a chance but do keep her crated. I have had to do that with Amy and the meds did their job. Healing prayers for her.

Not sure who they will send them off to.....maybe a radiologist to be looked at. Maybe she insisted on X-rays but the crate rest is pretty standard when it come to issues like this one.

????? Why? Send them off to where? Are they thinking they are not able to read the xrays correctly? Hope your baby is feeling better, and continues to improve .

They will send the X-rays to a spicalist and the specialist would probably require more test. But if these meds do the job they want need to do anything further. The X-rays was an option that I chose. They said I could wait the two weeks out then see if X-rays were needed.

They would recommend an orthopaedic specialist but they would have to send the X-rays over to them so they can view them too. It's like a second opinion. Or when you go to another doc they want the results for the first doc you saw also.

Poor Prada...I hope the meds help her bounce back and feel better. My vet will also sometimes send xrays off to a specialist free of charge, just to get a second opinion...esp if it's ortho related.

Just an update. Prada leg still isn't getting and better. I see no change at all.

Oh poor you and poor Prada. Do hope she make a turn for the better soon...and that you can find out exactly what is wrong.
When do you see the vet again? How is she coping with the bed rest?

It is so worrying when they aren't well, our thoughts are with you both.

She's hating the bed rest. I let her out a bit but I hold her or make sure she's lying down. The vet told me I could do that. She goes back In another week, after she's finish the meds.
