Toys Ok here I go. Buttercup is 11 months old and tears up every toy I buy her.Lord only know how much money I have spent on her toys and she has them tore up in 10 min. I am so afraid she is going to swallow a squicky. I buy her hard rubber toys and cloth toys. Any suggestions????? Ornery, ornery !:aimeeyork , :questione |

Kong Wubba Reigns in our home! 1 Attachment(s) Lollie's favorite toy has always been the Kong Wubba, puppy size. We had a disaster the first time we went to visit my daughter - the Kong dissappeared. Lollie was beside herself, so we had to make a late night trip to the pet store to pick up another one. The next day we found the original Wubba. In the pic below her most prized toy possession is on the left and a "replacement" loved but not nearly as much is on the right. The original Wubba is 4+ years old and she is really rough on her toys! And the squeeker still works in both! |
Pet Supply sells soft rubber squeaky toys that pup cannot get at the squeaky. If your pup tears up stuffed toys I wouldn't get them. My boy likes the soft rubber ones (he is 3 y/o) that Pet Supply, PetCo or Pet Smart sells. Good luck |
:thumbs upThanks so much for the help. The stuffed toys she chews a hole in them until she can pull the stuffing out. She even turned her little bed over and tore the bottom of it and pulled the stuffing out. Ornery I am telling you, but can be soooo sweet when she wants to. Is the wobble toy a treat toy???? Haven't seen any with a water bottle in them. Wish me luck ! :aimeeyork |
I got Galen a kong which he loves and the flexi Nylabone. He is a chewer also |
I just bought 2 toys at Petsmart that say they have no stuffing to pull out. they are soft and have big squeakers in them. One is an alligator and the other is a dragon. Mickey loves them both. |
Maybe try the puzzle toys where she can pull little toys out of the bigger toy without de-stuffing anything for real. My girls do not murder toys, but, very occasionally, my boy will and I worry about the filling so much even though he spits it out. My kids will play with fabric, squeaky toys, ropes and kitty tennis balls occasionally, but do not care much for rubber toys. Good luck...I hope you find the 'perfect' toy. |

I have the opposite problem with Joel, I wish he would rip up toys lol. But one of his favorite toys is those Orbee balls, they're pretty tough. |
Well I just went one more time to Pet Smart and bought Buttercup a KONG Wubba. Going to try that tonight. Took her a squirl yesterday and it lasted about a couple of hours and out came the stuffing. I may try the stuffing free one next. I bought her a real hard chicken Sunday and first she chewed a toe off, then a cone off, then a lip off and I said oh my and in the garbage can it went. Boy shes expensive !!! Going to have to work two jobs at this rate. :aimeeyork :( |
Well the Kong Wubba lasted one evening and she almost had the small ball out of the top. I just don't understand why she tears up everything. Chew Chew Chew. She will be a year old next month so I don't think its a teething problem. Do they make steel toys. About to give up. |
Lexi does the same thing. I always say she doesn't play with toys, she destroys them. Her goal in life is to get the squeaker out of every squeaky toy or stuffing out of every stuffed toy and she is good at it. She even managed to get the squeaker out of her small tennis balls keeping the tennis ball still intact. Still don't know how she did it. She also ripped the fuzz off the tennis balls. She can't have doggie beds because she will rip them open to get the stuffing out. |

My past lil girl destroyed almost every toy except balls. It seemed to me everything to her was a challenge. Stuffed toy, challenge her goal was to find the seam, then she would work at it until she startedto get the stuffing out. Rubber toy, challenger, the goal, get the squeaker out. Balls were her passion, and never destroyed any of them, so she had balls as big as beach balls, she was like a seal, I would throw it to her and she would hit it with her nose like a seal and send it flying, I had smaller air filled balls, but way bigger then the average balls, she would bat themall over the yard withher nose. Today they sell rag toys, no stuffing with squeakers in the hands & feet of these toys. You just have to find the Right toy for her. Yorkies LOVE challengers. Good luck |
