4 people catch plague from a dog! Scary stuff. A man had a dog that most likely caught a plague from fleas from either an infected prairie dog or rabbit. The disease was passed to the owner and then 3 other people who came in contact with the dog. 3 of the 4 people who contracted the disease had the disease progress to the pneumonic plague, which is transmittable person to person. wow that is scary stuff. thanks for sharing. |
I golf a lot and a few of the women I golf with constantly are feeding the prairie dogs (mostly) but we also have a lot of bunnies. It didn't seem to matter to some when we told them the fleas carried bubonic plague they'd say " but we aren't touching them just giving them food" well soon the prairie dogs were jumping in and out of the golf carts…I just posted the article link on FB. Yep leave the wild things wild and if you need there's planty of them out there needing love. |
