What do you think about this FB post? One of my neighbors posted this tonight. She has a very antagonistic relationship with the neighborhood since she was asked to leave the HOA board. While I agree that no one should be allowing their dog to run loose, this post just struck me as odd. What do you think? "We have adopted a new little 8 month old lab mix puppy. Will be installing an Invisible Fence for her. She is well-trained, but if a child OR another dog comes onto our property, we will not be responsible for her actions. Please tell your children NOT to come into the yard without letting me know first, and, for those of you on our street who insist on not keeping your dog('s) leashed or contained, we will NOT be responsible if he/she comes onto our property to do his/her business." |
Odd is an understatement regarding her announcement. What exactly does she mean by her last sentence? There is quite a bit of undertone regarding children and neighborhood dogs. |
Not knowing any background story, it just seems like she's giving a warning in case anything does happen? Sort of like hanging up the "beware of dog" sign in front your home. If she was asked to leave the board, maybe she's feeling she shouldn't put up with everything she was trying to regulate? (If that makes sense) OR! She's become a grouch person b/c she's not on the board anymore and wants to make sure everyone knows how unhappy she is! :/ |
She's made other threatening posts before this one. Plus a lot of ugly, racist comments. I'm not sure whether she is certifiable or whether there is a more liquid explanation. |

invisible fences are good for keeping your dog in your yard only, does nothing to keep dogs or children out. She will have many law suits on her hands. It's crazy to make statements like that. She would never win in court, and why take a chance in your dog getting harmed, or to have an innocent child get harmed. Invisible fences should be outlawed in communities and developments. |
I will say this though and maybe you will understand just like you perceive what my intent is when I said I didnt believe it I can also percieve what the op of that thread was and not believe them. Its no different its perception from 2 sides. If you have been on here long enough you can perceive if someones not telling the truth the same as someone else could perceive if someone is being rude no difference both are looking at someones intent |

LOL. Threads do have a way of bleeding over in to each other, don't they? |
That's all fine and dandy, but a facebook post doesn't remove your liability to control your animal/s/. That sounds like one of those hoax copy and paste facebook legal self protection statuses. If she's so concerned and her dog is really so menacing on it's own turf, she should put up a regular fence. I love the folks in my HOA, we are really lucky to all get along so well. We have a really nice facebook group where we all share goings on and I couldn't imagine if someone posted that nonsense the mockery that would ensue. |
I agree with, she can post on Facebook all she wants but liability is a whole other story and that lady does not have a leg to stand on. You can only hope that she confuses the collar for the invisible fence and places it on herself instead of the dog. |
