Crate for my yorkie puppy! Hello! My fiancé and I will be picking up our baby next month, so we are trying to prepare for her. I was looking online for crates. Our breeder says that our puppy will probably grow to be about 6 pounds (she is about 3 pounds now). We will be using the crate to potty train her and she will also be sleeping in it at night. I was looking at the Midwest crates and wasn't sure if I should get the XS (18"L x 12"W x 14"H) or S (24"L x 18"W x 19"H). Suggestions please? :D |
I have the xs mne is 9 weeks old and weighs 1.5 lbs. He is estimated to be 4.5 lbs. My breeders dogs are five lbs and this size is perfect for sleeping but not pottying in also. |
I have the small Midwest for my pup who will be around 5 pounds max. Yes you want it smaller for potty training purposes, but it has a divider that you can use to make it smaller and then when fully trained you can take the divider out so they have more room. Now Lexi has plenty of room to stretch out and even goes in there during the day to play with her toys. |
