Anyone else had their cat start to use the puppy pads? Our cat has a door and tunnel to our garden (high fences keep him in) As he's 10 years old, he started not always wanting to mess outside, so we gave him a litter box upstairs and downstairs. We keep them clean, as soon as he uses it, we clean it. ..but he's started using the puppy pads. Anyone else had this issue? It's a nuisance, as not only does he use them, he tries to cover it up, so scraps them all up into a pile after wards. The dogs go to the bathroom to go in the morning or at night, and suddenly can't. It's a mad rush then for me to clear up, before they have an accident. Caleb's good, but Pippi can't always hold it, and it's not her fault. Any ideas, how I can thwart our old, pesky piddlin' cat? |
Wow! I never thought anyone had this problem but me! Lol! I have 3 cats and 3 doggies... and a mess! And I'm also clueless how to fix the situation... sorry. |
Glad I'm not the only one, misery loves company. lol |
Actually, I think my cats have become lazy since I had to gate off their litter (snack) box from the dogs. Now they see the dogs using the pad and it's just easier than jumping over the gate to just use the pad too! I guess I have to make their access to the litter box easier for them... but then it will also be easier for the pups to get to it. IDK! |

Hope that works for you. Fingers crossed . In our case, the cat walks right by his litter box (tops of the stairs) to get to the bathroom and pads. Pippi has been known to grab a snack (yuck) as she goes up stairs, before I can stop her. At least she's learnt 'leave'.........sometimes just too late.:p:rolleyes: |
Oh so far so good. . . I have 4 kitties . . . . . . I am knocking on wood they they don't lol |
My cats have used the potty pads before... very stinky! Now I just have potty pads when the dogs are upstairs while I am at work. That keeps the cats away from it and allows the pups to still use the potty pad when they need it. |
