I received her paperwork today. That was an error on my part. She will be 3 months on the 29th. She is only 2.8 pounds though. The company that shipped her to me is Animals On Board. The new truck they just bought broke down coming out here, so I'm not sure what happened during that timeframe. My other yorkie was bought by the same breeder, and transported through the same company. He didn't have any issues being transported, but with her there was an issue. She is much smaller than he was at that age, so that might have been the problem. On top of that when the truck broke down I know it had to have gotten hot in there, and I'm not sure what precautions the guy who drove the truck took with all the puppies in the truck. All animal transporting companies have to have health certificates from every animal they transport, and shot records. I had to pay for them for both of my babies, so of course the rest of the puppies had to have them to, so that is not the case. Here is my opinion (just my opinion). If I had just gotten a new puppy, I know if I called my vet and told them that, they would make an appointment for today oR at least tomorrow. We have puppy lemon laws here in NJ. Check and see if you have these laws. |
I understand. There are companies out there that ship puppies all the time, so I thought grounds transportation was safer than getting transported by a airplane. She is doing fine now. She just doesn't like being placed in a carrier. My vet says its common for small puppies, small dogs, and some regular size dogs to get motion sickness. Since she was being transported from such a far place, and the truck broke down she might associate being in a pet carrier with that experience. She will never get placed in a pet carrier again. I don't want her anxiety levels to ever get like that again. |
Your pup could just be real sensitive to motion. My Jewels would get sick every time she was in a car but she outgrew it as an adult but she is too this day nervous in a car and shakes. You do need to get your pup to the vet for a visit though |
I received her paperwork today. That was an error on my part. She will be 3 months on the 29th. She is only 2.8 pounds though. I appreciate the advice. The earliest appoint he has available is on the 1st. She is doing great. She just can't step foot into a pet carrier. I think the truck experience caused her anxiety to rise, which caused the motion sickness. I told my vet about it. He said as long as she's eating and drinking water, and not throwing up or has diarrhea she's fine. She's getting a full exam on the 1st. Just to make sure. |
No worries, because I will never do this again. You live and you learn. |
Ok. I will look into it. Thanks |
