Spay Questions and Concerns Hi, I'm new here so please bear with me as I'm not familiar with this site. I just had my 6 month old Yorkie spayed yesterday and she is soooo not her self again today...she hasn't eaten or drank anything since I've taking her home and she did a lot of moaning last night!! She is also very shaky and very weak still...Is this all normal or should I contact the vet today? My heart is breaking as she just looks at me like why did you do this to me! |

when ever one of my pups refused their reg. food, I would boil boneless chic cutlets (I always keep a package in my freezer) and offer them that. If they refused to eat the chic. I knew they were sick and off to the vet I would go. I am very fortunate to have a 24/7 365 day a year vet. |
I gree if you are that concerned you should give your vet a call from reassurance. After any type of surgery it takes a day or so to fully recover from the anesthesia. If you are giving pain meds this will also cause lethargy just like in people. But it does take a few days for them to get back to normal and you will be trying to calm her down. |
Are you giving her pain meds? Hopefully you are. Even if you are though, you need to call your vet and tell them her pain is not being managed properly. Remember, this is major abdominal surgery and they need pain meds to get through it. Please call them asap. |
