Sophie was spayed yesterday. Sophie was spayed yesterday and had 4 baby teeth extracted. She came home today. At the moment she is sleeping by me in my recliner. I will be happy when she is feeling better. She whines everytime she moves and it sounds pitiful. I know from some of the post here she should feel somewhat better in several days. It is hars to see her this way. |
Aw, poor kiddo. Well, I'd be giving her the pain meds she should've been sent home with - but I'd also call the vet office to let them know you don't think her pain is being managed quite enough; in that case, they may tell you to up the dosage. It's major abdominal surgery, so it can be quite painful for them afterward, poor things. |
Poor little girl. I called when my baby was having a tough time after spaying, and they told me it was tougher on small dogs. You will notice a big difference after three days once the anesthesia is out of the system and they no longer need pain medication. If she is wearing a hard cone, I would switch it for a soft one, or better yet, a baby onesie. I hope you both feel better soon. |
I hope Sophie feels better soon! I'm sure she will in no time! :) |
Give her a day or two and she will be back to feeling herself. <3 |
It is a worrisome time for the first few days. Keep her comfortable with pain meds, and I'll bet she will surprise you and snap out of it in a couple days. |
I'm glad the big day is over, and wishing Sophie a speedy recovery. It is hard to see our little ones not feeling 100%. Wishing Sophie a better day tomorrow. |
Thanks everyone. I was not given any pain meds for Sophie. She does not have a cone either. All she wants to do is lay in my lap which of course is fine with me. Sophie normally sleeps with us most nights. Do you think it is ok for her to sleep with us tonight? |
As long as she doesn't jump down from the bed I don't see why not. |
