What's the name of the vitamin paste? Erg...this is driving me nuts. Someone recommended a paste to get for when Sheldon comes home to ward off hypoglycemia. I cannot for the life of me remember the name of it, and I am positive someone here will know...lol. Thanks in advance :) |
Could it have been Nutri-cal? It isn't really a vitamin, it's more of a calorie dense booster to help stay off hypoglycemia. |

And, derp...just saw the name of it in one of my other posts. |
Before I brought Chachi home I got some nutrical from the vet. Its good to have it even if they just have an episode where they arent eating you can give some. However it doesnt prevent hypoglycemia and you have to follow it up with a protein source or they will just have a sugar spike and when they come down from it have hypoglycemia. The best way to prevent hypoglycemia is to make sure your pup is eating well and eating a high quality food |

Make sure when you give it you follow it up with dog food or there sugar could crash. I also would only give it if there experiencing hypoglycemia. It's definitely good to have on hand. |

Too much of a good thing can cause diarrhea so don't overdo it. It's great to have on hand with you at all times while the pup is tiny. Any little thing, noise, chill, excitement, etc. can set them off (shaking). Don't panic, just give a little of this. If you don't have it with you and a petstore isn't around use Karo syrup. |
