Collasped Trachea Has anyones Yorkie died from a collasped trachea? My 6 year old Yorkie died Sunday night from this. I am devastated..... |
I have had a few pups with CT. Some are definitely worse than others. I lost one a few years ago on Christmas day...it was horrible. :( I am so sorry for the loss of your baby. |
Hi Ladyjane, What was so terrible is that my Vet told me that she would probably live for year's with this. She was on medication. She barked a lot the day before from firecrackers in the neighborhood. Then on Sunday night out of the blue she collasped. I tried everything, even mouth to mouth and she died in my arms. I don't know how I am going to get through this loss. She was my baby. This is so hard because I feel so quilty and so lost.. |

I Killed My Dog! I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers for you to find some peace. You just have to allow yourself to grieve ... it is terribly painful. |
so so very sorry for your loss! :( may your baby RIP and hugs to you at this difficult time. |
I'm deeply sorry for your loss. My little girl, Gracie, passed away from a collapsed trachea. She had it from the time she was little, but it steadily got worse. I could usually know what to do to stop her acute attacks, but my vet kept compassionately letting me know how serious it was getting. I thought she'd pass away one time from an acute attack, but she didn't. The day before my landscapers were doing a fall cleanup, and Gracie barked for hours. My husband said he couldn't stop her. When I came home there was such a sparkle in her eyes. Gracie was so happy! It must have been too much for her heart because she passed away the next day. My vet told me she lived years longer than he expected, but she was only 9.5 years old. Gracie was my little love bug who loved life she lived life full speed ahead and did not allow anything to stop her. She touched us so deeply, and she always makes us smile when we think of her. I hope that day comes for you when you think about your baby. |
Maxi I am so very sorry for your loss. You lived a wonderful 6yrs with your gal, and she with you. There is a saying that our dogs our loved ones are only loaned to us, for a long time or a short time we just never know. You gave her the care she needed and she died with her loved one right there present. There is nothing more for you to do, just grieve, feel what you feel, there are no apologies necessary to any-one for hurting from a deep loss. (((Hugs to you)))) |
so very sorry to hear this, (((((hugs)))))) your little girl will live in your heart forever |

Sorry for your loss. That's just terrible. |
So very, very sorry for the sudden loss of your lil baby. Please don't beat yourself with guilt, you did all you could for her, she passed in the secure arms of her momma who loved her. Take peace in knowing she is free of pain now. There are no words anyone can give you to take away the pain you are in. All of us on YT have been where you now are. We feel your pain. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers to help you through this painful time. ((((hugs)))) |
So sorry for your loss |
So sorry. So sorry for your loss. Our 14-year old is suffering from CT also, and it is getting worse. The hydrocodone helps a bit, but not enough. Your post made me go hug my girl. Gently. |
Im sorry for your loss. Collapsed trachea sounds so much like reverse sneezing it often gets overlooked |
Oh, I am very sorry to hear of your loss, my deepest condolences for you. We lost our first yorkie back in 2003 at the age of 10 because of CT. I still miss her, I felt so much guilt because we used a collar for quite a while before finding out even what CT was. Today we have 6 other yorkies, none of them would ever replace our little Tashee though. Thankfully none have CT issues. |
